Dreamland Rules for CEO Dreamland. Work in Progress. Rules are subject to change with notice but will be finalized by March 15th.

GENERAL RULES FOR CEO events

  • All Games will be played on default settings, unless otherwise noted below
  • All Tournament Matches are 2/3 Games unless otherwise noted under their particular rulesets.  Winners, Losers and Grand Finals for All games are 3/5!
  • All Games are run in Double Elimination style, Larger turnouts will be split up into Pool Play with Double Elimination Rules until a Semifinals such as top 32/16 are whittled down to Top 8 For Finals
  • All Macros available via the in-game controller configuration menu are allowed, Example- Tekken Mapping LP+RP to R1
  • Accidentally pausing the game at any time during a match may force you to forfeit the round (Solely at judge’s discretion if there is a player dispute).
  • If you choose Random Select to pick a character and win the match, you must Random Select your character again
  • You MUST provide your own controller for the events when competing.
  • You must bring your own converters, Cronus and Chronus Max Wireless converters are BANNED.
  • Brook Converters are legal and allowed. We have tested them ourselves without any issues. For more information on Brook Converters please visit Arcade Shock here http://arcadeshock.com/products/brook-converter-various-configurations
  • If you use a PS4 Dualshock or wireless controller of any kind, be sure to disconnect or desync it after every match, failure to do so will be grounds for DQ if another match is interrupted.
  • If you are entered into multiple tournaments that possibly happen at the same time, please notify your pool judges to avoid any DQs
  • If you have any issues with the tournament itself or tournament play please find the Tournament Director Alex Jebailey during the event
  • Above all else please have fun
  • Collusion of any kind with your competitors is considered cheating. If the Tournament Director determines that any competitor is colluding to manipulate the results or intentionally underperforming, the collaborating players may be immediately disqualified. This determination is to be made at the sole discretion of the Tournament Director. Anyone disqualified in this manner forfeits all rights to any titles or prizes they might have otherwise earned for that tournament.

SUPER SMASH BROS MELEE (GameCube)

  • Game Settings: 4 Stock, 8 Minute Time Limit, No Items, Pause Disabled, 2/3 Games
  • Starter stages: Yoshi’s Story, Fountain of Dreams, Final Destination, Battlefield, Dream Land.
  • Counter-pick stages: Pokemon Stadium.
  • Wobbling is legal. Freezing and infinite stalling are not legal.
  • First stage is decided by banning from the Starter Stages in P1-P2-P2-P1 order.
  • Winning player is not locked into the same character for the next match, but has to pick before loser selects character.
  • Following stages decided by winner banning one stage from all stages and then loser choosing.
  • Any matches that are best of five, there are no stage bans.
  • Maximum allowed time between games is 60 seconds. Any player violating this rule will be issued a loss.
  • You may not choose a stage you have already won on unless mutually agreed to.

Melee Doubles 2v2 Additional Rules:

Both players must be present. If one is not present, the options are to either play out a 1v2 or accept a DQ. There’s no swapping of controllers to other players or usage of CPUs in Doubles.

Doubles Game Settings: 4 Stock, 8 Minute Time Limit,  Items Off, Equipment Off, Handicap Off, Pause Off, Damage Ratio 100%, 2/3 Games until Top 4


 

SUPER SMASH BROS FOR WiiU 

  • Game version: US Nintendo WiiU
  • Game Settings: 2 Stock, 6 Minutes, Custom Moves Off, Items Off, Equipment Off, Handicap Off, Pause Off, Damage Ratio 1.0x, 2/3 Games
  • Allowed Controllers: Nintendo Gamecube controller, Wii U Pro controller (battery removed method with USB), and Wii Remote variation (player MUST remove battery upon completion of set or will be disqualified)
  • Mii Fighters On (1-1-1-1 Default Guest Miis)
  • Amiibo’s are banned.
  • Stages: Battlefield [Dream Land 64], Final Destination [Ω Midgar, Ω Suzaku Castle and Ω Wily Castle], Lylat Cruise, Smashville, Town & City
  • First stage is decided by (Rock Paper Scissors) best of 1. Winner may choose to either strike a stage first or select a port first. Stages are struck in a P1-P2-P2-P1 order.
  • Following stages decided by winner striking one stage from all stages and then loser choosing.
  • Winning player is not locked into the same character for the next match, but has to pick before loser selects character.
  • You may not pick the last stage you have previously won on during the set unless mutually agreed to.
  • You may not play on a stage that is not on the available stages list. This will result in a double disqualification.
  • If a game ends with a self-destruct move, the results screen will determine the winner.
  • Sudden Death with tied percentage/stock will result in a 1 stock/3 minutes playoff match.
  • There will be no loading anything on to the tournament consoles.

Smash 64 Ruleset

General Rules

  • Game Settings: 5 Stocks, Best of 3 Games. Best of 5 Games for: Winners Semis, Winners Finals, Losers Quarters, Losers Semis, Losers Finals and Grand Finals
  • Items are disabled.
  • Matches should be timed using some form of stopwatch or timer set to 8 minutes whenever possible.
  • Accidental pausing results in a loss of the current stock and a restart of the match at the resulting stock counts. The opponent can choose to forego the restart
  • Alternate or custom controllers/adapters such as a keyboard, Gamecube controller or a Hori Mini Pad are allowed if they are wired. Players suspected of using turbo functions or other macros are subject to immediate disqualification.

Doubles Rules

    • Team Attack enabled
    • Sharing stocks is allowed
    • Accidentally pausing while taking a stock forfeits that taken stock

Match Procedure

      • Players select their characters. Either player may choose to Blind Pick. In this case, each player secretly tells a third player their character before picking with the third player verifying their selections.
      • The players play the first match of the set on Dream Land.

      • The winning player of the preceding match may choose to change characters.
      • The losing player of the preceding match may choose to change characters.
      • The losing player of the preceding match may change their controller port.
      • The next match is played again on Dream Land

    • Repeat Steps 3 through 6 for all subsequent matches until the set is complete.

 

Super Smash Bros. Brawl for Wii

General Rules

  • Game Settings: 3 Stocks, 8 Minute Time Limit, Best of 3 Games. Finals are Best of 5.
  • Items are disabled.
  • Meta Knight’s infinite dimensional cape tactic is banned.
  • All other chain grabs and infinites are legal
  • There is a 35 Ledge Grab Limit for all characters. If a game goes to time and one player is over the Ledge Grab Limit, they automatically lose the game. If both players exceed their Ledge Grab Limit, then this rule is ignored.
  • The act of stalling is banned and constitutes intentionally making the game unplayable. Examples include becoming invisible, continuing infinites, chain grabs, or uninterrupted moves past 300%, and reaching a position that your opponent can never reach you.
  • Any action that can prevent the game from continuing (i.e., freezing, disappearing characters, game reset, etc.) will result in a forfeit of that match for the player that initiated the action. You are responsible for knowing your own character, and must be wary about accidentally triggering one of these effects.
  • Pause option is disabled in the game menu. If left on, accidental pausing mid match forfeits a stock.
  • You may not choose the last stage you have won on during a set, unless agreed by both players.
  • If time runs outs and ledge grabs do not determine a winner, the tie is determined by most stocks, and then if still tied, by percentage.
  • If the match ends with both players dying at the same time coincidentally, or if time ran out with both players at equal percent, a one stock three minute rematch will be played on the same stage. For this tie-breaker match, a Ledge Grab Limit of 15 is used for all characters.
  • If a match is ended via suicide move, the initiator of the move wins.
  • Coaching is not allowed during a match

Doubles Rules

    • Team Attack enabled
    • Sharing stocks is allowed
    • If time runs out and a player is over the ledge grab limit, that team loses if no one on the opposite team is over the limit
    • If time runs out and ledge grabs do not determine a winner, the match is decided by the team with most stocks, and if still tied, by the team with lower total percent
    • If a player is using Pokemon Trainer, Lucario or Sonic, either team may request team colors to be changed to make it easier to tell the difference
    • Two players on the same team may not both pick Metaknight

Match Procedure

      • Winning player of the preceding match bans a stage from the full list of stages, both Neutral and Counter-Pick. This ban is only chosen one and lasts for the entire set.
      • The Losing player of the preceding match picks a stage for the next match. Cannot choose the stage banned in the previous step, nor a stage they’ve already won on during this set, unless agreed.
      • The winning player of the preceding match may choose to change characters.
      • The losing player of the preceding match may choose to change characters.
      • The losing player of the preceding match may change their controller port.
      • The next match is played

    • Repeat Steps 5 through 10 for all subsequent matches until the set is complete.

Brawlhalla

General

Winners Finals, Losers Finals, and Grand Finals are Best Of 5. All other matches, including all pool matches are Best of 3.

Every 2v2 game must be created with the following Game Rules:

Every game must be created with the following Lobby Settings:
Map Choosing: Tournament Striking

Legend/Stance Locking

  • On the first game of any set, the lower seed player(s) must lock in their Legend(s) and Stance before the higher seed player(s) is required to.
  • In every other game of a set, the winning player(s) of the previous game must lock in their Legend(s) and Stance before the losing player(s) is required to.
  • After both teams are locked in, the lobby can move forward and map striking begins.

Map Striking

  • Lobby Settings will be set to Tournament Striking.
  • On the first game of any set, the higher seed team/player must strike all but three stages from the map pool. The lower seed team may then choose from the remaining three stages by striking two.
  • Every game afterward within the set, the losing team/player of the previous game must strike all but three stages from the map pool. The winning team of the previous game may then choose from the remaining three stages by striking two.
